Great Canal Journeys Venice

Great Canal Journeys Venice is an episode of the famous tv-series currently on air on Channel 4 in which husband and wife Timothy West and Prunella Scales takes canal barge trips in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Great Canal Journeys Venice portrays the two following the route once taken by Casanova and Lord Byron, escaping from the crowds of St. Mark Square to find tranquillity as well as beauty hidden in the surrounding island and unique hidden lagoon areas.

The journey starts 40 Km away from the city on water, in Stra, sailing along the Brenta river, watching all the beauty of palaces built in ancient times such as the unique Palladio’s Villa Foscari La Malcontenta.
After replacing a huge houseboat with a smaller gondola, Mr West and Mrs Scales discover the traditions that are still alive in Venice’s lifestyle such as the Rialto fish Market, the Arsenale and the rowing schools that still teaches childrens how to row and to discover all the beauty of the lagoon.

360 Degrees Film provided support for Channel 4, recruiting professionals for location work and production management of the complete Tv Series in Venice and in the surrounding areas and lagoon.
